Downtown Coalition: A United Front

stakeholders are united to address DOWNTOWNS GREATEST NEEDS

A broad coalition of business, resident, tourism, and community organizations submitted a letter to City of San Diego. Our letter recognizes the City’s recent efforts in addressing critical cleanliness and safety concerns in Downtown and urges further action in collaboration with our community.

The Downtown Partnership is proud to have gathered this coalition of leaders and serve as a unified voice on behalf of our collective organizations’ members. The letter includes seven specific priorities that have been selected based on community feedback and focus on disincentivizing illegal activity, addressing some of the most abject suffering, and mitigating unsanitary conditions in Downtown.

We recognize each one of the concerns and stories we have heard from our members about the public health and safety concerns experienced on our City’s streets and sidewalks.

We are confident we can do even more together. We hope for you to join in support of continuing this level of City services in Downtown in the weeks and months to come alongside a selection of additional recommendations we are confident will add to that positive momentum.

We will keep you updated and share the advocacy work of that coalition in collaboration with the City and County to implement change.
